It fell apart because people stopped participating. I created a Face Book site in the hopes that folks would go there but nope. So I just gave up. I tried my best. Maybe we can kick start another TXVROC chapter here- TXVROCSKEETER-been trying to let you know. We are building in Kerrville and looking for a church. Kept hoping you could help. Miss you brother. I'm @ 512-888-4154.

Thunder in the Hills Biker Church 110 Camino Real. Non denominational. Not elegant. What you see is what you get. Gods Word is preached. We care about our people. We take all comers good and bad. Either they catch on or they leave. We’ve had some idiots but they are our idiots. In this case you can pick your family. We started 20 years ago planted by Calvary Temple Church. They are a lot more polished over there. More family oriented. More kids. Better music. Bigger bathrooms…etc. pray and ask God. If you find a perfect church don’t go there…

Skeeter, when's your next Motorcycle/Car show? I haven't seen you mention one in a few years. We need to also meet Groundhog and Darla somewhere this summer. Darla is back to riding with Steve now. She had a bad crash on her trike and has now mended enough to ride with Steve again.

I ran into Gringo Star, aka Pat Carpenter, by accident here in Bastrop. He was drumming with his current band at one of the clubs downtown. We had a nice vist after his gig. I bet I haven't seen him in over 10 years. He's still ridin' some but sold his Vulcan and bought a used Harley. Yep, went to the dark side. I spoke with Jefe over the phone the other day. He's retired now but said he hasn't been doing much riding since Covid although he did say, coincidentally, that he ran into Pat over in Luckenbach the day after I ran into him.
Hey Skeeter, finally got a tentative closing date from my builder yesterday of July 28....17 months after the contract was signed and 11 mos. after they poured the slab. Do you believe that shit?!?! Good grief! I hope Mark has found a better builder than mine! Anybody heard from Ken/McDaddy?

Just got back (flew) from Seattle. I hadn’t seen the grandkid in over a year. Much more important to send Laurie at this stage of the game. He warmed to me pretty quick. Invited me to sit at his table and we had coffee. Had his own little mug (of water) and we clicked mugs and said cheers…. Been spending money on equipment repairs in priority but the bike is next. Have check out some indicator lights on dash. Bulb or fuse….. Need inspection and tags but also want to put fuel management system in. It has always run too lean and sometimes dies at a stop. A little TLC and I will be back in the running. We had stopped the Bike and Car show before the pandemic. Workers are few and we needed to build the coffers up some. The show was always an outreach and put on for the benefit of the community and was never a fundraiser. We just built a new pump house (10k) and need to expand the parking lot (50k) which was priced before all the prices went up. We are going for concrete because the asphalt was just about the same. Getting my tractor out of the shop next week and the bill on that determines when the bike goes in. Woody, the way things are going, I’m not surprised at the time it has taken to build your house. I’m still working by myself and can’t make any promises on deadlines so I have to tell that to customers upfront. Luckily I already have a waitlist of long time customers that are willing to wait on me. Just have to shop for best prices. I do need to exercise the motor home so if y’all want an MCH, I’m in

Well, I don't know how many builders there are around the Kerville/F'Burg area, but with the number of builders around the Austin and outlying areas thereof and the amount of homebuilding going on, a guy with your building resume could make probably command a six figure income from what my construction supervisor told me. Builders are hiring supes out from under other builders by offering them big bucks. Might have to learn Spanish though (HaHa!)

Wow, at the pace the messages are coming in I don't know if I can keep up! I sure miss the day when this group was active! When the two old single guys found out there was more to life than riding motorcycles the site has died!

Well, I guess you're referring to myself and Monkerz. I can attest that marriage definitely cuts into riding time. But it's no fun riding in +100* weather anyway. Wonder if Mark got his new home finished yet? Probably so I'm guessing. Hope everyone is doing great and surviving this heat.

Hey! to everyone who's responded to this thread...
Bluesteel and I are going on 11 years here in the beautiful metropolis of Alto, TX. Glad to hear everyone is doing well (or as well as can be expected at our age!).
Congrats to those who are able to "ride"...
Best wishes to all!
